Overview
This conference will address the effective diagnosis and management of common, clinically relevant otologic disorders. The course content is designed to enhance clinical practice of providers caring for patients with otologic disorders. It will cover topics involving all aspects of diagnosis, medical management, and surgical intervention, as well as applying risk reduction techniques, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, and evaluating evidenced-based data. The course will consist of didactic lectures, panel/ case discussions, and hands-on interactive sessions with the faculty.

Two ways to attend the Otology Update 2022 Conference:

1.  In Person:  All three days which includes three hands-on skills session on Saturday, November 5th. When registering to attend in-person, please rank the sessions you'd like to attend. 

In-Person 3 Days : Physician/Industry: $900.00
In-Person 3 Days: Non Physicians (RN, PA, Audiologists, SLP, Residents) - $600.00
In-Person 3 Days: California Fellows/Residents ONLY - $0.00

2.  Virtual Only: Attend all didactic sessions via Zoom (There will be no hands-on sessions virtually)

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Diagnose hearing loss and balance disorders based on specific patient characteristics and practice setting
  2. Enhance skill-set by improving skills in understanding, selecting, and performing otologic surgical procedures
  3. Apply risk reduction techniques in otologic surgery to reduce clinical errors.
  4. Establish and perform a multi-specialty approach to care for complex otologic disorders
  5. Evaluate the current options available to prevent, diagnose, treat and manage vertigo and tinnitus.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery CC Credit
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn their required annual part II self-assessment credit in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program (formerly known as MOC). It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

Day 1: Learner writes a reflective statement and makes a commitment to change or maintain an element of practice. Validity of all written statements will be assessed prior to awarding credit.
