Stanford Otology Update 2022

This conference will address the effective diagnosis and management of common, clinically relevant otologic disorders. The course content is designed to enhance clinical practice of providers caring for patients with otologic disorders. It will cover topics involving all aspects of diagnosis, medical management, and surgical intervention, as well as applying risk reduction techniques, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, and evaluating evidenced-based data. The course will consist of didactic lectures, panel/ case discussions, and hands-on interactive sessions with the faculty.

Two ways to attend the Otology Update 2022 Conference:

1.  In Person:  All three days which includes three hands-on skills session on Saturday, November 5th. When registering to attend in-person, please rank the sessions you'd like to attend.

2.  Virtual Only: Attend all didactic sessions via Zoom (There will be no hands-on sessions virtually)

Virtual 2 Days: Physicians : $600.00
Virtual 2 Days: Non Physicians (RN, PA, Audiologists, SLP): $400.00
Virtual 2 Days: California Fellows and Residents ONLY: $0.00

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (18.75 hours), AAPA Category 1 CME credits (18.75 hours), ABOHNS MOC Part II (3.75 hours), ANCC Contact Hours (18.75 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (18.75 hours)

1. Diagnose hearing loss and balance disorders based on specific patient characteristics and practice setting
2. Enhance skill-set by improving skills in understanding, selecting, and performing otologic surgical procedures
3. Apply risk reduction techniques in otologic surgery to reduce clinical errors.
4. Establish and perform a multi-specialty approach to care for complex otologic disorders
5. Evaluate the current options available to prevent, diagnose, treat and manage vertigo and tinnitus.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

American Medical Association (AMA) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 18.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 
 
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) 
Stanford Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 18.75 ANCC contact hours.  

American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) - Live 
Stanford Medicine has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This live activity is designated for 18.75 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.  

American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery CC Credit
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn their required annual part II self-assessment credit in the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s Continuing Certification program (formerly known as MOC). It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.

Day 1: Learner writes a reflective statement and makes a commitment to change or maintain an element of practice. Validity of all written statements will be assessed prior to awarding credit.

Day 3: Learner participates in simulation as judged by a facilitator or observer.

Continued Credit Education:   This course is offered for 18.75 hours by the State Board of CA licensure (Provider (PDP-332).  There will be no partial credit or per-day offering. 

American Academy of Audiology
Stanford Medicine is approved by the American Academy of Audiology to offer Academy CEUs for this activity. The program is worth a maximum of 1.65 CEUs. Academy approval of this continuing education activity is based on course content only and does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedure, or adherence of the event to the Academy’s Code of Ethics. Any views that are presented are those of the presenter/CE Provider and not necessarily of the American Academy of Audiology.

Cancellation Policy
