Overview
Join us for an insightful session on the epidemiology and impact of periprosthetic joint infections and arthritis on the increasing demand for joint replacements. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the presentation of periprosthetic joint infections, including how to rule them out and when to initiate antibiotic treatment. We will also address common misconceptions surrounding hip and knee replacements, highlighting how advancements in surgical techniques and implant longevity have broadened the criteria for surgical intervention. Additionally, attendees will learn to identify the clinical indications for total joint arthroplasty, explore the role of non-operative treatments, and understand the importance of preoperative optimization.
