Members of the healthcare team review updates on the details and issues surrounding COVID-19 testing. Topics will include: COVID inpatient updates, Update on Drive through testing. PCR testing: Over 110,000 tests to date. Positive rate is about 3.5%. Positive COVID test is highly reliable and patients do not need to retest. Stanford has a critical shortage of the rapid test kits, so moving from STAT to urgent tests for in-patients. Other shortages of supplies. Questions about sensitivity and specificity of PCR tests. Results of study conducted with the University of WA were shared. Discussion regarding the serology assays at Stanford and ongoing collaborations. Other serology updates. Interferon-Gamma Release Assay for detection of cellular immune response to SARS-CoV-2.
