Stanford Medcast Episode 20: Hot Topics Miniseries - Tele-Guided Pediatric Point-of-Care Ultrasound

This episode will address tele-guided pediatric point-of-care ultrasound and how it has advanced to improve access to care for patients and facilitated the engagement of healthcare clinicians who are located in different clinics/or high-level institutions. Topics discussed include the benefits of using this technology across the globe, the challenges and limitations it presents, the impact of COVID-19 on care, and a review of a pilot study underway to teach family practitioners in an area hard hit by the pandemic how to use this technology.

1. Develop skills/strategies to utilize tele-guided point-of-care ultrasound in practice when applicable.
2. Evaluate the challenges and determine ways to overcome the challenges in order to maximize the use of this technology to provide improved care for patients.
