Overview
This conference is designed to help primary care providers improve the evaluation and management of common neurologic symptoms encountered in clinical practice. Through expert-led presentations and case-based discussions, participants will review current diagnostic strategies, evidence-based management approaches, and recent advances in conditions such as headache, dizziness, tremor, and cognitive disorders. The program will also highlight practical guidance on when to manage neurologic conditions in primary care and when referral to neurology is indicated to ensure timely, appropriate patient care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Evaluate common neurologic symptoms encountered in primary care, including headache, dizziness, tremor, and cognitive changes.
  2. Apply updated diagnostic approaches, including focused neurologic examination and appropriate use of imaging or other studies, when assessing patients with neurologic symptoms.
  3. Implement evidence-based management strategies for common neurologic conditions that can be treated in the primary care setting.
  4. Identify clinical features and referral criteria that indicate the need for specialty evaluation by a neurologist.
  5. Integrate current advances in the diagnosis and management of neurologic disorders into primary care practice to improve patient outcomes.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
