Overview

This in-person educational seminar is designed to equip healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively implement bronchoscopic cryotherapy in pediatric care. Cryotherapy enables novel diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that are increasingly impacting pediatric practice. The course is divided into didactic sessions and hands-on training. Didactic lessons (CME-certified) will explore innovations in bronchoscopic cryotherapy, indications and complications in children. The hands-on portion (non-CME) will allow participants to practice a range of cryotherapy techniques, including clot extraction, foreign body removal, tissue devitalization, endobronchial, and transbronchial lung cryobiopsy. This seminar is ideal for bronchoscopists, pediatric pulmonologists, otolaryngologists, and respiratory therapists seeking to expand their procedural capabilities and improve patient outcomes through advanced cryotherapeutic approaches.

Didactic Sessions (CME-certified) Will Cover:

  • History and evolution of pediatric interventional bronchoscopy

  • Cryotherapy for airway obstruction

  • Indications and outcomes of cryobiopsy

  • Airway bleeding: prevention and management

Hands-on Experience (Non-CME) Includes:

  • Building a successful cryotherapy program

  • Airway recanalization

  • Foreign body removal

  • Endobronchial and transbronchial cryobiopsy

  • Management of airway bleeding

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to gain proficiency in these advanced techniques while networking with fellow specialists at the forefront of pediatric bronchology.
