Overview

This recording features a panel discussion on interventions to address the impact of social media on youth mental health. Hear from Vicki Harrison, author of Social Media and Youth Mental Health and co-founder of the #GoodforMEdia peer mentoring program at Stanford, and Dr. Rob Morris, co-founder and CEO of Koko, a non-profit that integrates free digital mental health interventions directly into social platforms. Together, they explore both the challenges and opportunities within today’s social media landscape and its impact on youth mental health. Moderated by Dr. Sara Johansen, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Stanford’s Digital Mental Health Clinic, this recorded panel provides an opportunity to hear from experts on how to create safer, more supportive social media experiences for young people.

-The impact of social media platforms on mental health, and how to weigh the benefits and risks.

-Opportunities for developing both on- and off-platform interventions to support wellbeing.
