Overview
Health Equity Rounds are case-based discussions focused on issues related to health equity. The sessions start with a discussion of a patient case that resulted in an unfavorable outcome or experience related to a subtopic of health equity, such as structural racism and bias, language access, and healthcare literacy. Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify and analyze the effects of health inequity using a clinical case from our division to mitigate inequities in our patient population.
  2. Collectively strategize ways to improve processes and make the care we provide more equitable for all patients who enter our healthcare system.
  3. Apply strategies to enhance processes and ensure that the care we provide is equitable and accessible to all patients within our healthcare system.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

Credit Designation 
American Medical Association (AMA) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

American Board of Pediatrics MOC Credit 
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 1.00 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
