Date & Location
Wednesday, October 16, 2024, 12:00 PM - Friday, October 15, 2027, 11:59 AM, On Demand

Overview
In this episode, we will discuss breast cancer treatment with Dr. Melinda Telli, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Medical Oncology at Stanford University School of Medicine. We will delve into the natural history of and treatment options for DCIS (a non-invasive form of breast cancer), including the ongoing debate in the medical community regarding treatment vs. observation for low grade DCIS. We will cover staging of invasive breast cancer, and delve into treatment options including surgical options, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, and biologic therapies. This episode will provide guidance on interpreting pathology reports for breast lesions, delivering a breast cancer diagnosis, and supporting patients undergoing breast cancer treatments including managing symptoms of anti-estrogen therapies.  Lastly, we will cover cancer survivorship care, and review how to monitor for recurrence in our breast cancer survivors in the primary care setting.
