Stanford Children's Health Schwartz Rounds

This series focuses on the impact of effective communication and relationships on patients, families, and healthcare providers, and systematically addresses the need to foster compassion, teamwork, support and relationship-centered care.

1. Employ personalized care that addresses the patient "as a whole person" within his/her unique context, and the impact of illness on the patient and family.
2. Practice compassionate and collaborative communication skills during challenging conversations with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
3. Incorporate strategies to work effectively with other members of the healthcare team and to decrease sense of work stress and isolation.
