Overview
The 2024 ILD symposium aims to improve the delivery of early, appropriate, and evidence-based care to the patient and family members with familial pulmonary fibrosis (FPF) and review current available genetic testing.

Led by the Stanford Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care, this CME symposium seeks to fulfill the need of practicing pulmonologists, primary care physicians, advanced-practice providers, and allied health care practitioners to incorporate knowledge of familial pulmonary fibrosis (FPF) into their comprehensive treatment plan for patients with interstitial lung disease.

A team of multidisciplinary experts will address genetics's role in diagnosing and treating patients with Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILDs), including the increased risks and comorbidities associated with a diagnosis of FPF.

Registration

We have rescheduled the conference to September 14, 2024.

Physician: $150
Allied Health/RN/Respiratory Therapists/Exercise Physiologists: $75
Trainees: $25

Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (5.50 hours), AAPA Category 1 CME credits (5.50 hours), ANCC Contact Hours (5.50 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (5.50 hours)

Target Audience
Specialties - Critical Care & Pulmonology
Professions - Advance Practice Nurse (APN), Fellow/Resident, Nurse, Physician, Physician Associate, Registered Nurse (RN), Social Worker

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. List the defining features of the short telomere syndromes in adults with ILD
  2. Identify the genes which should be tested in patients and family members with potential FPF
  3. Describe the clinical prognostic and therapeutic value of genetic sequencing in patients with FPF
  4. Discuss how a diagnosis of FPF may impact outcomes following lung transplantation
  5. Carry out a patient history to screen for FPF
