MCCPOP 42nd Annual Perinatal Potpourri: Advances in Care (Recorded Sessions)

The Mid-Coastal California Perinatal Outreach Program (MCCPOP) is a program located at Stanford University School of Medicine, Division of Neonatology. MCCPOP leaders include neonatologists and maternal fetal medicine specialists who consult on perinatal clinical care questions and provide education on current standards of care for mothers and newborns. These leaders partner with the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) and the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC), as well as other specialists and healthcare providers at Stanford Medicine, to provide a full spectrum of expertise, supporting high quality care for newborns and for women, before, during, and post pregnancy.

For over forty years, the Annual MCCPOP Perinatal Potpourri Conference has provided current advances in maternal, fetal, and neonatal medicine for healthcare providers around the world. Perinatal clinicians and other experts present on a variety of topics.

This year’s recorded conference will include a focus on multiple advances in perinatal care. Recordings include:

• CHAP study: Intervening earlier in hypertension 

• Exploration of multiple advances in the streamlined, team-based care for infants with renal and potentially, palliative care, needs

• Addressing racial disparities in maternal health

• Considerations for a people-centered, unbiased approach to contraceptive counseling and provisions

We welcome all healthcare providers - Fellows/Residents, Midwives, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physicians, Registered Dietitians, Doulas, Social Workers, Students – to participate in this recorded conference that will provide current advances in maternal, fetal and neonatal medicine!

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (9.50 hours), ACPE Contact Hours (9.50 hours), ASWB Continuing Education (ACE) credits (9.50 hours), CDR Continuing Professional Education Units (9.50 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (9.50 hours)

1. Utilize the most recent guidelines to treat mild chronic hypertension during pregnancy.
2. Apply evidence-based practice to provide a people-centered, unbiased approach to contraceptive counseling
3. Evaluate advances in the streamlined, team-based care for infants with renal and palliative care needs.
4. Review the impact of racial disparities for Black women in maternal health care.
5. Recognize the continuum between severe maternal morbidity and mortality.
6. Discuss opportunities to improve maternal and infant outcomes for diabetes related pregnancy complications and neonatal hyperglycemia.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

Credit Designation 
American Medical Association (AMA) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Enduring Material for a maximum of 9.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes that Continuing Medical Education (CME) is acceptable for meeting RN continuing education requirements as long as the course is certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM (rn.ca.gov). Nurses will receive a Certificate of Participation following this activity that may be used for license renewal.

Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE)

ASWB Approved Continuing Education Credit (ACE) – Social Work Credit 
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Stanford Medicine is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this activity receive 9.50 continuing education credits.

Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Completion of this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (One IPCE credit = One CPEU).
If the activity is dietetics-related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (One 60 minute hour = 1CPEU)
RD’s and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Sphere and Competency selection is at the learner’s discretion.

Pharmacists must submit to us their NABP e-Profile ID and Date of Birth for credit to be reported to CPE Monitor.
If you wish to claim ACPE credit, please enter your NABP ePID# and Date of Birth in your CE Profile. Log in to Stanford's CME portal > My CE > Profile tile > Credentials > Select NABP ePID# from the drop down and enter your ID number. Please also enter your Date of Birth (month and day) in your profile under Basic Information.  The field will appear when you select your Profession as Pharmacist.

Cancellation Policy
