Overview
The Stanford Center for Optic Disc Drusen at the Byers Eye Institute is hosting our 4th annual international conference to share laboratory and clinical advances on optic disc drusen, an orphan disease that is associated with vision loss and optic nerve calcification. Our goal for this meeting is to seed collaborative opportunities, educate the public, and to strategize about how to rapidly advance the field. In 2023, we will have a focus on optic nerve and retinal ganglion cell biology and mitochondria, and there will be many talks on translational vision research.

Registration

Registration for this course is free.

To register, please click on the "Register" tab above.

(Registration closes 4/15/2023 at 12pm PDT)

In person: Stanford Research Park Conference Center, 3145 Porter Drive, Palo Alto, CA 94304

Target Audience
Specialties - Ophthalmology
Professions - Fellow/Resident, Non-Physician, Physician, Student

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss what optic disc drusen is and how they cause vision loss
  2. Apply the latest clinical and basic science research in optic disc drusen
  3. Identify optic neuropathies such as anterior ischemic optic neuropathy and glaucoma, which are relevant to vision loss in optic disc drusen

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation
American Medical Association (AMA)
Stanford Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 5.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
