CVICU Performance Improvement

THIS IS A STANFORD, DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH - CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE ONLY ACTIVITY.

The Performance Improvement (PI) Conference aims to elevate the educational and clinical environment in the CVICU through monthly conferences. Sessions are designed to provide operational unit updates, case-based learning including mortality and morbidity review, and didactic clinical learning. In addition to, highlighting ongoing projects, academic interests, and unique achievements of the providers in an effort to provide opportunities for professional development.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.50 hours), AAPA Category 1 CME credits (1.50 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (1.50 hours)

1. Apply up to date evidence-based guidelines to patient care.
2. Identify practice gaps and systems gaps that contributed to patient harm via systematic review and open discussion of patient cases.
3. Facilitate creation of taskforces and interest groups to address practice gaps identified in this forum.
4. Identify the recent acuity level and current systems barriers (& associated solutions) in the CVICU.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
