Overview
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) for Native American Children and Youth program is a collaboration between the California Area Indian Health Service, Stanford Center for Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing, Two Feathers Native American Family Services, Southern California American Indian Resource Center, Cal Poly Humboldt and the Native American Health Center to improve the treatment of pediatric mental health disorders. This statewide ECHO aims to enhance knowledge of best practices in school-related topics, foster professional connections between providers and school professionals, and provide clinical guidance that enhances youth mental health in the educational setting. The target audience includes: Teachers, school administrators, school counselors, school psychologists, district leadership, educational support staff and paraprofessionals.

Note - Our target audience includes healthcare professionals who are based in the US, responsible for the care and treatment of Native American Youth. Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Provide comprehensive, integrated and responsive mental health services in educational settings for early recognition and evidence-based management of mental health challenges for children, adolescents and transition-aged youth.
  2. Formulate and implement culturally responsive treatment modalities according to practice-based and evidence-based guidelines.
  3. Acquire new skills, competencies, and best practices in child and adolescent mental healthcare for American Indian and Alaska Native youth.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

Credit Designation 
American Medical Association (AMA) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) 
Stanford Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.5 ANCC contact hours.  

ASWB Approved Continuing Education Credit (ACE) – Social Work Credit 
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Stanford Medicine is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Stanford Medicine maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this activity receive 13.5 live continuing education credits. 

American Psychological Association (APA) 
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibly for the content of the programs.
