In this recorded Anesthesia Grand Rounds presentation, Chief of the Division of Obstetric Anesthesia at Brigham and Women's Hospital Dr. Michaela Farber examines new developments in obstetric anesthesia from 2021. In her review of approximately 1,400 manuscripts published that year, she highlights key research on topics such as autism risk with epidurals, racial disparities in maternal mortality, faster labor epidural onset with DPE-PIEB, liposomal bupivacaine TAPs after C-section, chronic headache risk after wet taps, tranexamic acid dosing for postpartum hemorrhage, and the need for obstetric anesthesiologists to engage in mortality review committees.
