This is a recorded presentation of the Management of GI Disorders in the Primary Care Setting: Partnering with our Gastroenterology Colleagues held on Saturday, January 23, 2021. This course was designed for physicians and advanced care practitioners caring for patients in a primary care setting. The course provided a clinical overview of the diagnosis and management strategies of common GI and liver disorders that are encountered in the primary care setting and provide guidance on how and when to refer patients to their GI counterparts.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Evaluate the most common key diseases in gastroenterology and hepatology
  2. Develop strategies to evaluate and manage patients presenting with diseases in gastroenterology and hepatology commonly encountered in a primary care setting
  3. Determine follow-up management of key diseases in conjunction with gastroenterology and when, if needed, to refer to a GI specialist.
