Overview

This is a 12-week e-course designed to help physicians identify their professional and personal goals, assess and identify workplace burnout, learn how to set healthy work-life boundaries, understand a growth vs. fixed mindset, and develop tools to help women negotiate and lead crucial conversations in their workplaces and communities.

Attendees will gain competence in recognizing workplace bias and discrimination, undergo self study to identify gaps in work life boundaries and learn time management strategies.

The course includes weekly self-paced online modules, an accompanying study guide for attendees to complete self-study homework following each didactic, and small group live sessions at the conclusion of each week for review and Q/A.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Develop goals for a career in healthcare to influence how one can affectively build clinical, education, and research programs.
  2. Recognize personal symptoms of burnout and utilize healthy strategies to care for both ourselves and our patients.
  3. Recognize bias and gender gaps in promotion and pay and communicate your needs effectively to achieve your goals.
  4. Develop strategies to effectively manage time, clinical schedules, and nonclinical endeavors.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
