Overview
This activity aims to enhance clinicians’ knowledge, confidence, and cultural competency in caring for LGBTQ+ patients with or at risk for liver disease. Faculty will review the prevalence and drivers of liver disease among LGBTQ+ individuals, including clinical risk factors that may be missed when Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) data are not routinely collected. Participants will develop practical strategies for culturally competent communication, trauma-informed care, targeted screening, and allyship to support more inclusive clinical environments, reduce healthcare avoidance, and improve patient-centered liver care.
