Overview

Now in its second year, the Stanford AI in Med Ed Symposium returns with even bigger questions and in a bigger space!

AI is no longer on the horizon of medical training and practice. It's here, and its implications are being worked out in real time. This half-day symposium brings together medical students, residents, clinicians, educators, researchers, and technologists to do that work together: openly, critically, and with a shared commitment to leveraging these technologies thoughtfully and ethically.

With a keynote from Laurah Turner, PhD, from the University of Cincinnati, a candid panel on what AI means for how we train physicians, lightning talks showcasing what's actually being built and used in the classroom and by the bedside, and a debate about whether tools like ambient scribes belong in the hands of learners. We'll close with a forward-looking conversation on where all of this might be headed.

Along the way, you'll hear from the Stanford AI in Med Ed team about the curriculum innovations we've launched and the lessons we're learning.

This is a gathering for those who believe the question of how AI shapes the next generation of physicians is too important to leave unanswered and who want to be in the room where it's being addressed.
