Overview
Join us to enhance your clinical approach to evaluating and managing hip, thigh, and leg pain in active individuals and athletes. Expert faculty will review the differential diagnosis of common extra-articular and intra-articular causes of hip pain, as well as prevalent running-related injuries affecting the thigh and lower leg. Learners will review updated approaches to diagnosis and management of these conditions, incorporating recent advances and evolving concepts in sports medicine care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Evaluate the non-arthritic hip and on physical exam to differentiate between intra-articular hip pain from extra-articular hip pain
  2. List the differential diagnosis of non-arthritic hip pain
  3. Discuss the differential diagnosis of leg pain in the runner
  4. Explain when to refer the patient with nonarthritic hip to the orthopaedist
  5. Develop strategies to treat the different causes of leg pain in the runner
