Teaching Gender-Affirming Care: A Case-based Simulation to Improve Transgender Health Outcomes

Teaching Gender-Affirming Care: A Case-based Simulation to Improve Transgender Health Outcomes Banner

  • Overview
  • Faculty

Date & Location
Friday, December 5, 2025, 12:00 AM - Monday, December 4, 2028, 11:59 PM, On Demand

Overview

Experience an immersive, simulation-based training program designed to strengthen clinical skills in caring for transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) patients. Through 18 dynamic clinical encounters spanning eight virtual patient cases, learners make real-time decisions that directly influence patient trust, stress levels, and health outcomes.

Grounded in evidence-based guidelines and shaped by the lived experiences of TGD individuals, this course addresses a critical gap in medical education by offering an accessible, low-cost opportunity to practice gender-affirming communication and care.

Interactive scenarios, structured feedback, and guided reflection support participants in building the empathy, clinical confidence, and practical skills needed to provide equitable, affirming care for TGD patients across a wide range of healthcare settings.
