The Hospital Oncology Provider Education (HOPE) program has been meticulously developed to facilitate an intensive onboarding process for our Advanced Practice Providers (APP) and hospitalist oncology services. This self-directed initiative will feature a series of 12 modules that encompass a wide range of relevant general medicine and oncology topics, aimed at building foundational knowledge essential for success in the inpatient oncology setting specially related to Stanford Healthcare's principles and guidelines. This module is centered on palliative care and focuses on pain management and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.25 hours), AAPA Category 1 CME credits (1.25 hours), ANCC Contact Hours (1.25 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (1.25 hours)

1. Evaluate and manage chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) by identifying its type and underlying mechanism, selecting evidence-based pharmacologic and supportive interventions tailored to emetic risk and receptor pathways, and coordinating interdisciplinary care when first-line strategies fail.
2. Apply evidence-based principles of cancer-related pain management to assess pain type and etiology, select and safely titrate opioid and non-opioid therapies, prevent and manage common side effects, and coordinate care with palliative specialists to optimize comfort and safety in hospitalized oncology patients.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

American Medical Association (AMA) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Enduring Material for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Enduring Material activity for a maximum of 1.25 ANCC contact hours.  

American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) - Enduring Materials 
Stanford Medicine has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This enduring activity is designated for 1.25 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until 01/06/29. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation. 

Cancellation Policy
Live Activities: Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date.

Self-paced Activities: No refunds will be made on cancellation requests after a learner accesses any part of the course content. Any cancellations refunded will less a 20% administrative fee. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
