Overview

2026 Stanford Flexible Intubation Course (CME Accredited)

March 28 - 9:45am - 12:45pm and 2:55pm - 5:55pm
March 29 - 9:50am - 12:50pm
Learners will complete this course once. Click here to view course details.

This hands-on course equips clinicians with essential skills for flexible scope intubation in routine and difficult airway management. Participants will learn core principles of scope handling, navigation, and hand positioning, with structured practice on airway teaching models. Emphasis is placed on preoperative endoscopic airway examination to guide patient selection, indications, contraindications, and procedural planning.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate proper flexible scope handling, navigation, and hand positioning to perform oral and nasal flexible scope intubation.

  2. Apply preoperative endoscopic airway examination findings to assess airway anatomy, select appropriate patients.

  3. Identify indications, contraindications, and predictors of difficulty for flexible scope intubation.

  4. Implement advanced flexible scope intubation strategies to manage challenging airway scenarios safely and effectively.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation
American Medical Association (AMA)

Stanford Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 3.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

2026 Stanford Advanced Airway Management Course (Non-CME)

This comprehensive, multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art course offers airway training to a national and international audience. It provides participants with the essential evidence-based knowledge and technical skills to manage anticipated and unanticipated difficult airway in the operating room, emergency department, and intensive care unit as well as in diverse clinical settings. The conference will integrate various educational formats including didactic lecture, immersive simulation workshops, Lunch and Learn discussions, and small-group breakouts.

The course is ideally suited for the anesthesiologists, critical care, emergency medicine, and ENT physicians.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Integrate effective approaches and evidence-based strategies for predicting and managing the difficult airway.

  2. Apply advanced oxygenation techniques, including Transnasal Humidified Rapid-Insufflation Ventilatory Exchange (THRIVE).

  3. Develop skills for alternative ventilation strategies using supraglottic airway devices, techniques for SGA–endotracheal tube exchange, and surgical rescue ventilation.

  4. Enhance crisis resource management (CRM) skills for team performance and debriefing.

  5. Determine proper patient selection and preparation for awake flexible fiberoptic intubation (FOI).
