Overview
This 1-day, hybrid conference presented by Stanford faculty will provide an update on high-yield adolescent health topics, including substance use disorder, eating disorders, management of psychotropic medications, gender care, reproductive health and confidentiality. Adolescents make up a significant proportion of patients in both General and Sub-specialty Pediatrics, and have unique physical and mental health needs, including in the realms of confidentiality, access and counseling regarding contraception and other reproductive health needs, identification and management of eating disorders, and psychotropic medications. This course aims to improve knowledge regarding these adolescent health topics to enhance providers' confidence in providing care to adolescents.

  1. Recognize signs and symptoms of eating disorders in adolescents
  2. Describe management of substance use disorder in adolescents

  4. Identify areas of confidentiality in adolescence
  5. Describe management of gender dysphoria in adolescents
