The Care Improvement Committee (CIC) is designated by the Medical Executive Committee to provide direct oversight to the professional practice evaluation (PPE) process. The PPE process is perceived as a catalyst for learning and systems improvement, emphasizing growth rather than judgment or punitive measures. This series presents cases that were identified at the Service PPEC level as having significant systems/process and team function improvement opportunities.
