This trauma-informed workshop delves into the intricate intersection of queer and trans experiences with emotional distress and extreme states. Through the analysis of case studies, group discussions, and somatic practices, participants will gain insights into the typical stressors faced by queer and trans individuals and their profound impact on mental health. The course will not only identify these stressors but also examine the adaptive survival strategies and somatic responses employed by clients to navigate them.

1. Identify at least 5 common stressors for queer and trans clients.
2. Lead clients through 3 basic somatic practices to settle the nervous system.
3. Identify at least 4 common survival strategies and protective parts they may encounter .
4. Describe at least 3 different wellness mapping tools.
5. Identify 3 alternatives to inpatient psychiatric care for LGBTQ clients in crisis.
