Pediatric Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Lecture Series: Concussions

Concussions are relatively common with over 3 million people in the US experiencing concussion symptoms each year. The approach and standards of care to treating concussions have undergone significant advancements. We invite you to join us to explore the latest assessment tools for use in clinical settings and to stay updated on the most current and effective best practices in concussion management.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), BOC Category A Hours/CEUs (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (1.00 hours)

1. Discuss the clinical presentations and diagnosis for concussions in pediatrics
2. Explain the underlying mechanisms of neurologic dysfunction that contribute to symptoms following concussion
3. Navigate a systems-based approach to rehabilitation and return-to-play
4. Identify common pitfalls that contribute to prolonged recovery
5. Review the indications for specialized care
