In this session, we will learn effective strategies of how to overcome clear evidence of bigotry, systematic racism, or both to advance the medical care of children and adults with sickle cell disease.

  2. Review current successes and failures in the curative treatment of sickle cell disease in children and adults.
  3. Discuss clinical and genetic strategies to improve health outcomes before and after curative therapy in children and adults with sickle cell disease.
