Overview
The overall goal of the two-day T1D QI Learning Session is to build QI capacity among the 37 participating clinics within the QI Collaborative group through knowledge and skill building, sharing of best practices and QI tools that will aim to improve health outcomes for patients with diabetes. Attendees will be able to complete a series of quality improvement cycles after the learning session with a focus on the following: Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles to improve device access and use in clinic practice; PDSA cycles to address inequities with technology use in clinic practice; and PDSA cycles to maintain/sustain the gains made in technology use and address inequities.

  1. Discuss technology use and advancements made in the past decade
  2. Analyze device use in pediatric and adult populations for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  3. Examine inequities in device access and use, based on race and ethnicity
  4. Develop strategies to address telehealth needs during the pandemic
  5. Identify gaps in insurance coverage and how to advocate for healthcare coverage for vulnerable populations
