The Care of Pediatric Emergencies, Trauma and Resuscitation conference will cover a wide array of critical care and emergency pediatric care topics that are emergent in nature, and require skills in the initial resuscitation or treatment of a pediatric patient. It will provide educational and professional constructive learning opportunities related to the stabilization and transfer of pediatric patients.

Objectives
  1. Apply an evidence-based approach to creating a diagnostic and management plan for patients with life-threatening conditions such as traumatic brain injury, sepsis, and cardiopulmonary arrest.
  2. Recognize critically ill and injured children and apply appropriate management strategies including cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  3. Employ new strategies for optimizing analgesia and sedation of children in the emergency department setting.
  4. Apply updated guidelines for screening child abuse cases.

Accreditation
The Stanford University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation
he Stanford University School of Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 4.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes that Continuing Medical Education (CME) is acceptable for meeting RN continuing education requirements as long as the course is certified for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM (rn.ca.gov).  Nurses will receive a Certificate of Participation following this activity that may be used for license renewal.
