Two sessions:

This two-part training series equips scientists and healthcare providers with communication tools and strategies to effectively counter Covid-19 health misinformation, recognize disease disinformation, build trust with communities most vulnerable to false health news, and work effectively with journalists to share impactful and accurate health messaging about Covid-19 transmission, treatments and vaccine candidates.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (5.25 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (5.25 hours)

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Categorically differentiate false health news that comprise information disorder.
  2. Recognize health misinformation and disinformation and counter false narratives using effective communication techniques.
  3. Translate technical language and uncertainty into language accessible to a lay audience.
  4. Build relationships with the press to disseminate accurate, nuanced health information.
  5. Describe the publishing ecosystem including book publishing, podcast and written journalism.
  6. Develop public-facing platforms as a published author and writer.

Accreditation
The Stanford University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation
The Stanford University School of Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
