Children's Week 2022: Care Options for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

The 2022 Children's Week Virtual Conference aims to share innovations and advancements on a wide range of clinical issues encountered in daily pediatric practice. Designed for general pediatricians, family physicians, pediatric subspecialists, and any pediatric provider interested in the care of children, the engaging sessions will be comprised of case-based discussions and Q&A.

Dr. Aeri Moon is a pediatric gastroenterologist who specializes in treating digestive disorders in children. In this session, she will discuss  diagnostic and treatment practices that clinicians can implement to enhance and improve management of pediatric gastroesophageal reflux disease
(GERD).

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.50 hours), ANCC Contact Hours (1.50 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (1.50 hours)

1. Explain the physiology and natural history related to GERD in pediatric patients and which patients are at increased risk for GERD
2. Review the signs and symptoms related to GERD in pediatric patients.
3. Describe the variety of diagnostic approaches to GERD in children and what diagnostic test(s) is/are optimal.
4. Explain the various treatment approaches, including medical and surgical, related to pediatric patients with GERD.
