Stanford Big Ideas in Medicine Conference

This event includes multidisciplinary thought leaders from science, business, journalism, and policy in discussion and dissection of some of the most pressing issues facing medicine in our time. The four theme areas were selected by a committee of Stanford faculty and include: Neuroscience, Living to the Last, Magic Medicine, and Climate and Health. Each theme will feature four speakers giving a 30 minute talk on a Big Idea followed by a panel discussion.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (12.25 hours), Non-Physician Participation Credit (12.25 hours)

1. Analyze cutting-edge research and advancements in neuroscience, novel treatments, and climate-related health impacts.
2. Evaluate advancements in neuroscience research and their implications for understanding brain function, mental health, and neurological disorders.
3. Identify the health impacts of climate change and explore strategies for mitigating environmental risks to improve public and global health outcomes.
4. Examine emerging therapies, such as psychedelic-based treatments, and assess their potential risks, benefits, and applications in modern medicine.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
