Overview
This conference will provide an update on classical pediatric hematology advances. Content will include didactic presentations and case discussions of hemophilia and rare bleeding disorders, management of thrombotic disorders, the role of new pharmacologic agents and other therapies to treat red blood cell disorders, the management of iron overload in transfusion dependent patients, review current management of PNH and inherited bone marrow failure disorders.

At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify the new therapies available to treat inherited red blood cell disorders.
  2. Apply the most current management practices of patients with transfusion related iron overload.
  3. Describe the advances in the diagnosis and management of hemophilia and rare blood disorders.
  4. Discuss the advances in the diagnosis and management of bone marrow failure disorders.
