Overview
The Stanford Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Symposium is a two day hybrid activity. Given the ever-expanding patient population and diagnoses considered for Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) and Cellular therapies as well as the complex supportive care required- there is an ongoing need for education of our colleagues that refer and care for these patients prior to and after these therapies. In addition to reviewing the state-of-the-art transplant and cellular therapy-related treatments for hematologic and select nonhematologic diseases--- emphasis will also be placed on the approach to the unique, older patient population considered for these therapies.

Registration

Registration fee includes course materials, certificate of participation, breakfast and lunch.  The symposium is a hybrid activity; you can attend in person or virtually.  Please select the corresponding registration type when registering.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to: 
  1. Discuss the importance of stem cell niche in allogeneic hematopoietic cell engraftment.
  2. Examine how to find suitable allogeneic donor(s) for all patients.
  3. Interpret the role of regulatory T cells (Treg) in graft-versus-host disease.
  4. Analyze the novel concept of graft engineering in improving clinical outcomes in allogeneic transplant.
  5. Review the application of cellular therapy in managing autoimmune disease and inducing tolerance.
  6. Review the state-of-art report on the utility of CART cells in B-cell malignancies.
  7. Discuss the development of CART cell therapy in myeloid malignancies.
  8. Examine the utility of CART cell therapy in solid tumor including sarcoma.

  1. Review the principles and applications of Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Cellular Therapies specifically for the treatment of hematologic malignancy, including lymphoma, leukemias and plasma cell dyscrasia.
  2. Analyze the challenges associated with Aging in the context of BMT and Cellular therapies.
  3. Examine the role of Cellular Therapies in the treatment of non-hematologic diseases.
  4. Explore the use of Cellular Therapy, as well as molecular markers of disease in the pre and post BMT and cell therapies.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
