The conference goals are broad – looking at healthcare professionals with disability, how institutions can support medical trainees with disability, the health equity of patients with disability, and training physicians to better treat patients with disability.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize and describe the unique role the disabled provider has in creating an inclusive healthcare system
  2. Identify and overcome the barriers to disability inclusion in medicine
  3. Apply best practices for mentoring trainees with disabilities
  4. Assess strategies for breaking down stigma around mental health and/or neurodiversity disclosure.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.  

Credit Designation 
American Medical Association (AMA) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 6.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes that Continuing Medical Education (CME) is acceptable for meeting RN continuing education requirements as long as the course is certified for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. (rn.ca.gov). Nurses will receive a Certificate of Participation following this activity that may be used for license renewal.
