Overview

The goal of this conference is to educate clinicians, health care providers, residents and fellows on the state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic approach to Lyme disease, and to educate participants in the current understanding of Lyme disease pathobiology and research findings.


Registration

Registration fee includes course materials, certificate of participation, breakfast and lunch.

Physicians - $300

Nurses and Allied Health Professionals - $225

General Public - $100

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Review microbial infections transmitted through tick bites
  2. Incorporate diagnostic evaluation strategies for patients following tick bites
  3. Determine the appropriate management and therapeutic approach for patients following tick bite
  4. Incorporate appropriate therapeutic approaches for patients that test positive for borrelia burgdorferi infection on two-tier testing

Accreditation
The Stanford University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation
The Stanford University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes that Continuing Medical Education (CME) is acceptable for meeting RN continuing education requirements as long as the course is certified for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM (rn.ca.gov).  Nurses will receive a Certificate of Participation following this activity that may be used for license renewal.
