Michael David Tseng, MD

Dr. Tseng is clinical faculty with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Stanford School of Medicine.  He is the Spine Section Chief at Stanford Health Care ValleycareA board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon, Dr. Tseng previously was in private practice in the East Bay for more than nine years. He completed a Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, training with Dr. Serena Hu, Chief of Spine Service, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford, during her tenure there. His residency training in Orthopedic Surgery was at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan where he received the Mid-America Orthopedic Association Physician in training award.  He received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.

 

Over his career, he has completed basic science, biomechanics, and clinical research.  He is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeon, and American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.  He has an interest in all aspects of spine surgery including minimally invasive and motion-sparing surgeries.  He also has an interest in co-management of clinical care with hospital systems to improve surgical outcomes, costs, and length of stay.
